Japan's Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba says Tokyo intends to impose a fresh round of financial sanctions against Iran over Tehran's nuclear energy program.
The new sanctions, approved by the cabinet of Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda on Friday, will freeze the assets of 106 institutions, one individual and three banks linked to Iran, Japan's official Kyodo news agency quoted Gemba as telling reporters on Friday.
