Covert : Is America Planning WW3 With China ( Article From 2011 But Never More Apt)

China's vast military machine grows by the day. America's sending troops to Australia in response. As tension between the two superpowers escalates, Max Hastings warns of a terrifying threat to world peace.

Mass hysteria: The armies of Mao Tse-tung stunned the world by intervening in the Korean War

Mass hysteria: The armies of Mao Tse-tung stunned the world by intervening in the Korean War

On the evening of November 1, 1950,  22-year-old Private Carl Simon of the U.S. 8th Cavalry lay shivering with his comrades in the icy mountains of North Korea.
A patrol had just reported itself ‘under attack from unidentified troops’, which bemused and dismayed the Americans, because their campaign to occupy North Korea seemed all but complete.

Suddenly, through the darkness came sounds of bugle calls, gunfire, shouts in a language that the 8th Cavalry’s Korean interpreters could not understand. A few minutes later, waves of attackers charged into the American positions, screaming, firing and throwing grenades.

‘There was just mass hysteria,’ Simon told me long afterwards. ‘It was every man for himself. I didn’t know which way to go. In the end, I just ran with the crowd. We ran and ran until the bugles grew fainter.’

This was the moment, of course, when the armies of Mao Tse-tung stunned the world by intervening in the Korean War. It had begun in June, when Communist North Korean forces invaded the South.

U.S. and British forces repelled the communists, fighting in the name of the United Nations, then pushed deep into North Korea. Seeing their ally on the brink of defeat, the Chinese determined to take a hand.

In barren mountains just a few miles south of their own border, in the winter of 1950 their troops achieved a stunning surprise. The Chinese drove the American interlopers hundreds of miles south before they themselves were pushed back. Eventually a front was stabilised and the situation sank into stalemate.

Three years later, the United States was thankful to get out of its unwanted war with China by accepting a compromise peace, along the armistice line which still divides the two Koreas today.

For most of the succeeding 58 years the U.S., even while suffering defeat in Vietnam, has sustained strategic dominance of the Indo-Pacific region, home to half the world’s population.

Yet suddenly, everything is changing. China’s new economic power is being matched by a military build-up which deeply alarms its Asian neighbours, and Washington. The spectre of armed conflict between the superpowers, unknown since the Korean War ended in 1953, looms once more.

American strategy guru Paul Stares says: ‘If past experience is any guide, the United States and China will find themselves embroiled in a serious crisis at some point in the future.’

The Chinese navy is growing fast, acquiring aircraft-carriers and sophisticated missile systems. Beijing makes no secret of its determination to rule the oil-rich South China Sea, heedless of the claims of others such as Vietnam and the Philippines.

Expansion: The Chinese navy is growing fast, acquiring sophisticated missile systems

Expansion: The Chinese navy is growing fast, acquiring sophisticated missile systems

The Chinese foreign minister recently gave a speech in which he reminded the nations of South-East Asia that they are small, while China is very big.

Michael Auslin of the American Enterprise Institute described these remarks as the diplomatic equivalent of the town bully saying to the neighbours: ‘We really hope nothing happens to your nice new car.’

This year, China has refused stormbound U.S. Navy vessels admission to its ports, and in January chose the occasion of a visit from the U.S. defence secretary to show off its new, sophisticated J-20 stealth combat aircraft.

Michael Auslin, like many other Americans, is infuriated by the brutishness with which the dragon is now flexing its military muscles: ‘We have a China that is undermining the global system that allowed it to get rich and powerful, a China that now feels a sense of grievance every time it is called to account for its disruptive behaviour.’

Washington was angered by Beijing’s careless response to North Korea’s unprovoked sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan a year ago, followed by its shelling of Yeonpyeong island, a South Korean archipelago.

Wreckage: Washington was angered by Beijing's careless response to North Korea's sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan

Wreckage: Washington was angered by Beijing's careless response to North Korea's sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan

When the U.S. Navy deployed warships in the Yellow Sea in a show of support for the South Korean government, Beijing denounced America, blandly denying North Korea’s guilt. The Chinese claimed that they were merely displaying even-handedness and restraint, but an exasperated President Obama said: ‘There’s a difference between restraint and wilful blindness to consistent problems.’

Washington is increasingly sensitive to the fact that its bases in the western Pacific have become vulnerable to Chinese missiles. This is one reason why last week the U.S. made a historic agreement with Australia to station up to 2,500 U.S. Marines in the north of the country.

Beijing denounced the deal, saying it was not ‘appropriate to intensify and expand military alliances and may not be in the interests of countries within this region’.
Even within Australia, the agreement for the U.S. base has provoked controversy.

Hugh White of the Australian National University calls it ‘a potentially risky move’. He argues that, in the new world, America should gracefully back down from its claims to exercise Indo-Pacific hegemony, ‘relinquish primacy in the region and share power with China and others’.

But Richard Haas, chairman of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations, says: ‘U.S. policy must create a climate in which a rising China is never tempted to use its growing power coercively within or outside the region.’

To put the matter more bluntly, leading Americans fear that once the current big expansion of Chinese armed forces reaches maturity, within a decade or so, Beijing will have no bourgeois scruples about using force to get its way in the world — unless America and its allies are militarily strong enough to deter them.

Meanwhile, in Beijing’s corridors of power there is a fissure between the political and financial leadership, and the generals and admirals.

On the one hand, Chinese economic bosses are appalled by the current turmoil in the West’s financial system, which threatens the buying power of their biggest customers.

Allies: The U.S. made a historic agreement with Australia to station up to 2,500 U.S. Marines in the north of the country

On the other, Chinese military chiefs gloat without embarrassment at the spectacle of weakened Western nations.

As America announces its intention to cut back defence spending, the Chinese armed forces see historic opportunities beckon. Ever since Mao Tse-tung gained control of his country in 1949, China has been striving to escape from what it sees as American containment.

The issue of Taiwan is a permanent open sore: the U.S. is absolutely committed to protecting its independence and freedom. Taiwan broke away from mainland China in 1949, when the rump of the defeated Nationalists under their leader Chiang Kai-shek fled to the island, and established their own government under an American security blanket.

China has never wavered in its view that the island was ‘stolen’ by the capitalists, and is determined to get it back.

Beijing was infuriated by America’s recent £4  billion arms deal with Taiwan which includes the sale of 114 Patriot anti-ballistic missiles, 60 Blackhawk helicopters and two minesweepers.

When I last visited China, I was struck by how strongly ordinary Chinese feel about Taiwan. They argue that the West’s refusal to acknowledge their sovereignty reflects a wider lack of recognition of their country’s new status in the world.

A young Beijinger named David Zhang says: ‘The most important thing for Americans to do is to stop being arrogant and talk with their counterparts in China on a basis of mutual respect.’ That is how many of his contemporaries feel, as citizens of the proud, assertive new China.

But how is the West supposed to do business with an Asian giant that is not merely utterly heedless of its own citizens’ human rights, but also supports some of the vilest regimes in the world, for its own commercial purposes?

Burma’s tyrannical military rulers would have been toppled years ago, but for the backing of the Chinese, who have huge investments there.

A million Chinese in Africa promote their country’s massive commercial offensive, designed to secure an armlock on the continent’s natural resources. To that end, following its declared policy of ‘non-interference’, China backs bloody tyrannies, foremost among them that of Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe.

China, like Russia, refuses to endorse more stringent sanctions against Iran, in response to its nuclear weapons-building programme, because Beijing wants Iranian oil. Indeed, Chinese foreign policy is bleakly consistent: it dismisses pleas from the world’s democracies that, as a new global force, it should play a part in sustaining world order.

If Chinese leaders — or indeed citizens — were speaking frankly, they would reply to their country’s critics: ‘The West has exploited the world order for centuries to suit itself. Now it is our turn to exploit it to suit ourselves.’

A friend of ours has recently been working closely with Chinese leaders in Hong Kong. I said to his wife that I could not withhold a touch of sympathy for a rising nation which, in the past, was mercilessly bullied by the West.

She responded: ‘Maybe, but when they are on top I don’t think they will be very kind.’ I fear that she is right. It seems hard to overstate the ruthlessness with which China is pursuing its purposes at home and abroad.

China chose to make an example of Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu by jailing him for 11 years

China chose to make an example of Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu by jailing him for 11 years

The country imprisons Nobel prizewinners such as the political activist and writer Liu Xiaobo, steals intellectual property and technological know-how from every nation with which it does business and strives to deny its people access to information through internet censorship.

The people of Tibet suffer relentless persecution from their Chinese occupiers, while Western leaders who meet the Dalai Lama are snubbed in consequence.

Other Asian nations are appalled by China’s campaign to dominate the Western Pacific. Japan’s fears of Chinese-North Korean behaviour are becoming so acute that the country might even abandon decades of eschewing nuclear weapons, to create a deterrent.

A few months ago, the Chinese party-controlled newspaper Global Times carried a harshly bellicose editorial, warning other nations not to frustrate Beijing’s ambitions in the South China Sea — Vietnam, for example, is building schools and roads to assert its sovereignty on a series of disputed islands also claimed by China.

The Beijing newspaper wrote: ‘If Vietnam continues to provoke China, China will . . . if necessary strike back with naval forces. If Vietnam wants to start a war, China has the confidence to destroy invading Vietnam battleships.’

This sort of violent language was familiar in the era of Mao Tse-tung, but jars painfully on Western susceptibilities in the 21st century. China’s official press has urged the government to boycott American companies that sell arms to Taiwan.

The people of Tibet suffer relentless persecution from their Chinese occupiers

The people of Tibet suffer relentless persecution from their Chinese occupiers

The Global Times, again, demands retaliation against the United States: ‘Let the Chinese people have the last word.’

Beyond mere sabre-rattling, China is conducting increasingly sophisticated cyber-warfare penetration of American corporate, military and government computer systems. For now, their purpose seems exploratory rather than destructive.

But the next time China and the United States find themselves in confrontation, a cyber-conflict seems highly likely. The potential impact of such action is devastating, in an era when computers control almost everything.

It would be extravagant to suggest that the United States and China are about to pick up a shooting war where they left off in November 1950, when Private Carl Simon suffered the shock of his young life on a North Korean hillside.

But we should be in no doubt, that China and the United States are squaring off for a historic Indo-Pacific confrontation.

Even if, for obvious economic reasons, China does not want outright war, few military men of any nationality doubt that the Pacific region is now the most plausible place in the world for a great power clash.

Michael Auslin of the American Enterprise Institute declares resoundingly: ‘America’s economic health and global leadership in the next generation depend on maintaining our role in the world’s most dynamic region.’

But the Chinese fiercely dissent from this view. It is hard to exaggerate the threat which this clash of wills poses for peace in Asia, and for us all, in the coming decades.

Guantánama Clearly An Inside Job - BUT We Must Have Patsy's To Fool The Sheeple.

The chief war court judge has agreed to let media and civil liberties lawyers argue for openness at the start of a pre-trial hearing at Guantánamo in the death-penalty case of five alleged conspirators in the Sept. 11 attacks.

A consortium of 14 media groups, including The Miami Herald, and the American Civil Liberties Union separately filed motions protesting protective orders that shield the public from access to secret information in the case.

Judge James Pohl, an Army colonel, agreed to let lawyers argue their case on Aug. 22, the opening day of a week of hearings. He signed the one-page order Wednesday, according to a copy obtained by The Miami Herald. It was posted on the war court website Thursday afternoon.

Defense attorneys for the alleged architect of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, and his four co-defendants did not oppose oral arguments. Nor did the office of the Pentagon’s chief war crimes prosecutor, Army Brig. Gen. Mark Martins, who has been trumpeting the war court’s transparency.
“Oral argument from the media and ACLU will emphasize the critical public interest in open proceedings at Guantánamo,” said James Connell, attorney for Mohammed’s nephew, Ammar al Baluchi, an alleged logistical co-conspirator, who is also known as Ali Abdul Aziz Ali.
At issue is the war court system that employs a 40-second delay of the proceedings, time enough to let an intelligence official hit a white noise button if any of the men describe what CIA agents did to them after their capture in Pakistan in 2002 and 2003 and before their arrival at Guantánamo in September 2006.

Israel Murdered Iran's Nuclear Scientists - Mossad Book Confirmation.

By Jean Shaoul

30 July 2012
Spies Against Armageddon: Inside Israel’s Secret Wars states unequivocally that Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, assassinated five of Iran’s top nuclear scientists over the last five years, as part of a broader campaign aimed at sabotaging the country’s nuclear programme.
It is already widely acknowledged that the Western powers are mounting a covert terrorist campaign to destroy Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. But new allegations by authors Yossi Melman, a leading Israeli military and intelligence journalist who writes for Ha’aretz, and Dan Raviv, a CBS national political correspondent, reveal that the assassinations were all carried out by Mossad operatives who used “safe houses” maintained inside Iran since the Shah’s era.

These were not contract killings, but “blue and white” operations—a reference to the colour of Israel’s flag. Mossad operatives from Kidon, a unit responsible for assassinations and kidnappings, conducted the murders.

The authors of Spies Against Armageddon are not left-wingers seeking to expose Mossad’s criminality. They glorify its services to Israel. Melman is on record as supporting an Israeli pre-emptive strike on Iran, penning an article in Ha’aretz in April 2009 headlined, “I would advise Netanyahu to attack Iran—Such a move would serve the interests of the West and the Arab world, but they can ill afford to admit it”.

The book suggests that most of the assassins were Israelis of Iranian origin who probably held dual nationality and an Iranian passport. Tens of thousands of Iranian Jews left Iran after the 1979 revolution, many moving to Israel. Mossad selected and trained a few of them or their Farsi-speaking children. These agents have been able to access Iran regularly by numerous routes, including the Kurdish region and some of the states in the Caspian Basin, such as Azerbaijan, with which Israel has close more

The U.S. military used sailors as human guinea pigs to find out what effects various poison and carcinogenic gasses would have on their human/pig bodies, and yet, the records are 'sketchy'. How was this atrocity discovered? According to the report:
"The Pentagon started releasing the previously classified information about Prthat they've been caught) the military is "committed to help any veteran who took part in these tests". The act of 'taking part' would consist of a mutual agreement between two parties. The language suggests that the human guinea pigs voluntarily 'participated' in a dangerous and even deadly (to themselves) experiment.

Yes, of course they will 'help' those who took part... the same way they helped the victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam; and the way they are taking care of the Gulf War vets suffering from the mysterious Gulf War Illness (those still alive); and the way they took care of the World War I veterans who went to Washington, D.C. to claim the 'war bonus' promised and never given. Newer, younger military troops were brought in, under General Douglas MaCarthur, and they began firing away at the pesky old soldiers. Just following orders.
My brother was in the Navy in the early to mid 1960's. A great deal of his time was on a ship. . . sometimes for weeks at a time. I thought it odd when his hair began thinning so quickly and at such a young age, from a family of men with no pattern of baldness. In a very short period of time, from a thick, healthy head of hair he went totally bald, save a narrow strip just below the top of his ears. When he was on leave one time and understandably fretting over the hair loss, I remember suggesting that possibly his hat was too tight.
Maybe there's a connection there and maybe not. In his forties, my brother developed a malignant melanoma (first ever in a family with little history of cancer). He was successfully treated by an alternative health clinic in California, free of the cancer for nearly seven years. It reared it's ugly head again and took him quickly, from the lung to the liver to physical death.
We should not assume that the admitted experimenting (article below) on a particular ship full of men means there weren't other ships and other experiments on more men. In fact, there's much more to tell, and most we'll never discover.

Land Of Barbarism - A Glimpse Of America.

by Solomon Comissiong

Garbage in, garbage out.America's foundation is built upon the bloodied, mutilated, and lifeless bodies of innumerable people – mostly of color.” Is it any wonder, then, that the United States would become, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. concluded, “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world” – mainly directed against non-Europeans. “We cannot evade the fact that America is a swampland of institutional racism and white supremacy; these realities make it easy for many Euro-Americans to accept the mass killing of people of color across the globe.”

Land of Barbarism: A Glimpse of America

by Solomon Comissiong

"I see America through the eyes of the victim. I don't see any American dream--I see an American nightmare." Malcolm X

Americans have accepted barbaric narratives of ‘justifiable wars’ and ‘humanitarian wars,’ fed to them from a trough full of lies.”

When Western Europeans embarked upon their expansion of death and destruction throughout what is now commonly known as America, they would often justify these grizzly campaigns in the name of "civilization." They felt it was necessary to civilize the "barbaric red-man." The people whom whites often referred to as "Injuns" (a racist term used by settlers/thugs to label indigenous people throughout North America), were in the way of European plundering of the land. The amoral shiftless hypocrites from Western Europe needed to conjure up some rationalization for the tidal waves of mass murder they were soon to unleash upon the "uncivilized heathens." These "Injun heathens" needed a European brand of civilizing, and they needed the white man's numerously rewritten Bible.

It did not matter that they fled England in large part due to religious persecution; whites referencing their holy book to validate brutal massacres. As a matter of fact, they, and their European cousins (Spanish, Portuguese, French, et al), made a habit of imposing their Bible and religion upon indigenous people of color – no matter where they went. They simply had to "civilize" and bring culture to the world's "savages" of color, or so they said. They were deemed "savages" predicated on simple facts like: they were non-white and they had different cultures. Oh – they were also on land the Europeans wanted to steal. Europeans needed little justification to execute their routine acts of savagery and barbarism. This was the European way.

It mattered little that, no matter where they went, there were prosperous societies riddled with indigenous people. It didn't matter that these societies were much better off, more democratic, and humane than the regions these Europeans fled. And it surely did not matter that these indigenous people had their own form of spirituality. What mattered was that they were different and occupied land they wanted. This was reason enough for the real barbarians to initiate killing sprees that would make Hitler blush.

They were deemed ‘savages’ predicated on simple facts like: they were non-white and they had different cultures.”

Indigenous people of color throughout the globe were not the savages; it was those who imposed incessant onslaughts of terror upon them. Their actions make this an undeniable conclusion. These horrific true tales happened throughout the globe almost wherever Europeans roamed, including throughout what we now call "America".

America's foundation is built upon the bloodied, mutilated, and lifeless bodies of innumerable people – mostly of color. Given the undeniable historical background of the illegal founding of this country, it should be of no surprise that its legacy of death and destruction continue unabated, even in 2012.  Americans have become, in essence, complicit in their overall mental and social demise. They have allowed a government they believe represents them to psychologically dumb them down, as well as to rob them of humanity. Each time someone (anyone) is complicit with the loss of innocent lives, regardless whoever is the murderer, they are exhibiting disregard for humanity. Martin Luther King, Jr. had it right when he said, "He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

Barbarism has become entrenched within American society – the foundation was built hundreds of years ago, it is now perfected. The rulers of this strange society have convinced its populace that lies are truths and that truths are lies. The people believe almost anything their government (and its unofficial 4th branch, called the media) feed them. It matters little to most Americans that their government has created carnage throughout the globe. Americans have been easily persuaded in to believing that somehow these people are a different kind of human, therefore their lives are less valuable. We cannot evade the fact that America is a swampland of institutional racism and white supremacy; these realities make it easy for many Euro-Americans to accept the mass killing of people of color across the globe.  And they certainly don't give a damn about the state sponsored loss of black life within their own stolen country, let alone that of other more

The U.S. Causes Vast Misery In Africa.

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

Americans want to believe their president when he poses as a humanitarian world leader. But Africa knows different. Literally millions have died and been displaced as a direct result of U.S. imperial strategies. “American policy in Africa is to create chaos, and then to present itself as the cure.”

Far from a Humanitarian Savior, the U.S. Causes Vast Misery In Africa

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by Glen Ford

The United States is the main vector of mass carnage and misery, from Somalia to Libya to Congo and so many points in between.”

The United States has finally made a token effort towards reining in its central African client state, Rwanda, whose destabilization of neighboring Congo has contributed to the deaths of six million people over the past 16 years. A United Nations panel charged that Rwanda has been supporting a Tutsi tribal rebel group in Congo. Rwanda and another U.S. puppet regime, Uganda, have profited enormously from stealing the mineral resources of eastern Congo, in collaboration with U.S. and European mining companies. At the end of last year, 1.7 million Congolese remained homeless, largely because of Rwanda’s continued interference in Congolese affairs.

Bowing ever so slightly to world opinion, Washington announced that it would cut military assistance to Rwanda. As it turns out, the only money the U.S. is withholding is for an academy for Rwandan non-commissioned officers – a measly $200,000 out of a total Rwandan aid package of $528 million. The gesture is an insult to the millions of Congolese who have been killed or displaced by the U.S. and its Rwandan and Ugandan mercenaries.

The United Nations Refugee Agency reports that the number of Somalis forced to leave their country has reached the one million mark. At root, this is also an American crime against humanity. Somalia ranks behind only Afghanistan, Iraq and Colombia in its number of displaced persons. And, like the other three countries, Somalia’s humanitarian crisis is the result of Washington’s imperial military strategies.

The number of Somalis forced to leave their country has reached the one million mark.”

The U.S. dragged Somalia into hell in December of 2006, when it funded and armed an Ethiopia invasion of the country. Tens of thousands were killed outright, and Somalia was robbed of a chance to build peace under a moderately Islamist government. In the capital city, Mogadishu, alone, nearly two million people were forced from their homes, and soon the United Nations declared Somalia “the worst humanitarian crisis in Africa.”

In the ensuing five years, the United States methodically attempted to starve out the Somali Shabaab resistance forces, so that when the worst drought in 60 years struck the region, last year, mass deaths were inevitable. By now, the U.S. had ensnared most of Somalia’s neighbors in its war – Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti, a whole region in flames – in order to facilitate an expansion of U.S. military influence in the region.

Far from playing a humanitarian role in Africa, the United States is the main vector of mass carnage and misery, from Somalia to Libya to Congo and so many points in between. American policy in Africa is to create chaos, and then to present itself as the cure.
Economically, the U.S. offers nothing to Africa, except rigged deals and endless debt. Years ago, China eclipsed the U.S. as a trading partner, and now offers Africa more and better quality foreign aid than the Americans. Unable to compete on a level laying field, Washington exports death to Africa, in the form of weapons systems and Green Berets. There is nothing good that the United States can do for Africa, but leave.

US officers tell Congress that general blocked probe of hospital in Kabul

House hears of abuses that went uninvestigated because commanding officer allegedly feared 'bad news' getting out
One complainant said Lieutenant General William Caldwell had partisan motives in postponing any investigation until after the 2010 election. Photograph: US navy/Reuters
The American general who led a Nato training mission in Afghanistan opposed an investigation into corruption and "Auschwitz-like" conditions at a US-funded hospital in Kabul for political reasons, US military officers told Congress on Tuesday.

One active-duty officer testified that the three-star general, Lieutenant General William Caldwell, who headed the training mission in Afghanistan, forced him to retract a request for an inspector general's investigation into the Dawood national military hospital.

Colonel Mark Fassl, said he was shocked when Caldwell brought up the 2010 congressional elections and said: "How could we do this or make this request with an election coming? He calls me Bill." Fassl, who was inspector general for the compound, said he believed it was a reference to President Barack more

Israel : Sick American's Take Aim In Jewish Settlements - Shooting Arab Looking Targets.

Hundreds of American adventure-seekers have found the latest thrill at a West Bank firing range, shooting pictures of Arab-looking targets and learning a new version of Israeli patriotism.

The company, Caliber 3, offers a two-hour "tourist course" – a lecture about anti-terrorism tactics, hand-to-hand and related combat skills, and a lesson in how to shoot.

Located in the occupied West Bank, just where the real training camp for Israeli soldiers and bodyguards has operated since 2002, it is attracting more and more tourists, giving them the real taste of an anti-terrorist operation with Arab-like mannequins posing as  targets.
"We came to show the kids how the Israelis protect themselves and to have a good time," Norman Solomon, a former LA real estate agent and brainchild behind Caliber 3, said in between shots.

Rachel Frogel, a young mother of four young children all under the age of 10, says “it's a fun experience for the whole family."

"We're touring Israel, and this is part of the Israel experience, and it's something that you could only do in Israel, and it's very exciting," she says.

What makes the issue more sensitive is that the shooting school lies in the West Bank Settlement bloc of Gush Etzion in Southern Jerusalem, where more than 340,000 Israeli settlers live.

The UN considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law. Regular clashes occur in the disputed region and reports of violence between Israeli settlers and Palestinians have been escalating over the last few months.

And despite all the delight from travelers, the morality of this gun toting operation is causing a stir in Israel.

The "special encounter that cannot be experienced anywhere else except on the battlefield” is not the image some local residents want to project.

"For years we have been looking to change the perception of Israeli residents of Judaea and Samaria and more specifically of Gush Etzion," says Yoram Bitane, a former head of tourism development for the region. "The image given by Caliber 3 is contrary to that goal," he added.

France And America Dictatorship - Palestine Is NOT To Investigate The Possible Murder Of Arafat - Israel Must Be Protected At ALL Costs.

China’s Xinhua news agency reports that Palestinian officials told it that the PA has come under serious pressure from the U.S. and France not to seek an international tribunal to investigate the possible murder of Yasser Arafat:
The Palestinians’ efforts to launch an international probe into the 2004 death of ex-leader Yasser Arafat face serious obstacles, a Palestinian official said Tuesday.  The obstacles stem from the opposition by some countries including the United States and France, the official said on condition of anonymity.
The United States has put pressure on the Palestinian leadership not to seek such an investigation because it can lead to some negative consequences on the Middle East peace process…
Of course it will.  If Israel is discovered to have killed Arafat, it will make it look like an utter ass and further alienate Palestinians (and the world) from Israel.  So what the U.S. is saying essentially is that Arafat’s murder is water under the bridge and it’s far more important to negotiate a peace deal than dwell on the past.  This. of course ignores the critical importance of justice and accountability in resolving this more.

Israel Admits TheIr Justification For War On Lebanon was Fabricated.

Being absolved of a long list of crimes doesn’t give one the right to incriminate oneself on other crimes. Yet, that is exactly what former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert did today. On July 12, 2012, two days after being acquitted, he spoke at a conference in Tel Aviv, which was devoted to the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel. While the media recorded his astonishing words, he admitted that Israel’s main excuse for its brutal attack on Lebanon—the retrieval of two captured soldiers—was false. “The war had one objective which we did not achieve, and we knew in advance that [we] couldn't achieve, and it was spoken in cabinet meetings," Olmert said.

The prime minister, the government, and the army, knew that. Openly deceiving the entire world, they attacked for the sake of achieving a different target.

In parallel, Hezbollah soldiers crossed the border Israel and attacked a patrol of two Israeli Humvees, in the location marked in the map above. In the event, three IDF soldiers were killed, two were injured, and other two were captured. Master Sergeant Ehud Goldwasser and First Sergeant Eldad Regev, were taken by the Hezbollah soldiers to Lebanon.
This event marked the beginning of a 34-day long war between Israel and Hezbollah. “Kidnapped Soldiers” blared the Israeli headlines. I was surprised. Since when is a soldier “kidnapped?” Were they watering their mothers’ gardens at the time? No, they were participating in military events. Soldiers are never kidnapped; they are captured. Afterwards they should be treated according to the international Geneva Convention. That one simple semantic deceit by the Israeli media kidnapped the nation’s mind. The Israeli government used the event to fulfill a different more

Israel Ethnic Cleansing :Israel Prison Population 90 Percent Black Africans.

It should come as no surprise that a settler state based on the rule of one ethnic group would be steeped in racist public policies. But the sheer scope of Israel’s institutional oppression of Africans shocked human rights activists imprisoned for attempting to deliver humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza. “The first day I was there, I witnessed 500 Africans scooped from the streets of Tel Aviv thrown into prison,” said a Black British activist. “The prison population continues to grow daily with Africans falling victim to the Israeli judiciary system.”

“My Hell in an Israeli Jail”: Israel Prison Population 90 Percent Black Africans

“Africans, like Palestinians, are being persecuted by the Israeli government.”
Black British filmmaker Ishmahil Blagrove has launched an outspoken attack against the “racist” Israeli government after being abducted from the high seas and imprisoned for seven days.
Jamaica-born Blagrove, who lives in West London, was one of six British nationals taking part in a mercy mission to Gaza who were seized from the vessel Spirit of Humanity on June 30 by Israeli military forces.
The ship, which Blagrove says was illegally boarded in international waters, was bringing a cargo of medicines, children’s toys and reconstruction materials to the devastated people of Gaza.
“I’m not concerned with the time that I spent in jail because I am now free, however, there are still thousands of people being persecuted as we speak,” said Blagrove.
“I went on the voyage to deliver medical aid, toys and film a documentary about Palestinians living in Gaza post the 22-day bombing last year however, I was unable to fulfill my mission and have now returned with a bigger story to tell. Africans, like Palestinians, are being persecuted by the Israeli governmentand the world needs to know.”
Sailing from Larnaca, Cyprus, with a crew of 21 human rights activists, humanitarian workers and journalists from 11 different countries, those on board included Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire and former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney.
“We were surrounded by four Zodiac Special Forces, which are Israeli gunships.”

The governor announced that the work has begun to provide supply baskets of the main food materials to the inhabitants who have already started coming back to al-Midan neighborhood.

Israel Spoiling For Another War With Lebanon.

by Stephen Lendman

Lebanon has the misfortune of bordering Israel. The IDF attacked its northern neighbor in 1978, 1982, 1996, and 2006. More on the most recent war below.

Israel still illegally occupies Sheba Farms and Ghajar Lebanese territory.

Since at least the 1960s, it conducted repeated violations of its territory. Its warplanes overfly Lebanon provocatively. It committed thousands of terrorist attacks. It remains unaccountable for all of them.

Hezbollah was born out of Israel’s 1982 war. It’s a legitimate part of Lebanon’s government. It’s not a terrorist organization. It’s repeatedly accused of attacks it didn’t commit. The July 19 Bulgarian false flag is the latest. More on the aftermath below.

Hezbollah threatens no one. It’s fully prepared and committed to defend itself and its territory if attacked. International law supports it. In contrast, Israel is a serial war criminal. It’s a regional menace. Its nuclear, chemical and biological arsenals threaten humanity.

In July 2006, Israel committed naked aggression. Lebanon was preemptively attacked. Thinly veiled pretexts were used as justification. Israel lies about all its belligerence.

Crimes of war and against humanity were committed. Doing so is official Israeli policy.

Against Lebanon, Israeli strategy revealed its “Dahiya Doctrine.” Named after the destroyed Beirut suburb, it’s how all Israeli wars are waged.

Collective punishment/disproportionate force against civilians and non-military infrastructure is policy. Israel’s 2006 blitzkrieg killed over 1,000, injured thousands more, and displaced one-fourth of Lebanon’s four million people.

Beirut, Tyre, Sidon, and other Lebanon cities and towns were attacked. Targets destroyed or damaged included major ports, Beirut International Airport, 70 bridges, dozens of key roads, electrical power plants, gas and fuel stations, factories, schools, radio and TV stations, mosques, churches, hospitals, dams, civil defense centers, Sidon’s refugee camp, an orphanage, and civilian neighborhoods.

Jiyeh’s utility plant south of Beirut was also struck. Doing so caused a massive oil spill. It affected over 90 miles of coastal waters. It threatened biodiversity and heightened the risk of cancer for many thousands of Lebanese.

A land, sea and air siege was imposed. Illegal weapons were used. They included depleted uranium, chemical agents, white phosphorous bombs and shells that burns flesh to the bone, and so-called thermobaric bombs.

They contain polymer-bonded or solid fuel-air explosives. They’re able to penetrate buildings, underground shelters and tunnels. Its blast pressure sucks oxygen out of affected areas and people in them. It’s a terror weapon designed to kill and destroy more

Cuba: Hugo Chavez in Critical Condition In Cuban Hospital

Hugo Chávez extended stay in a Cuban hospital is because he is in critical condition, according to a report in El Nuevo Herald.

The Venezuelan president, who was last seen in public June 9 and last heard from on June 12, on a phone call with Venezuelan state television, was said to have been treated for a pelvic abscess in Cuba.

During the call Chávez said that medical tests showed no sign of any "malignant" illness.
But according to the report in El Nuevo Herald, Chávez finds himself in "critical condition, not grave, but critical, in a complicated situation."

The Miami newspaper cited U.S. intelligence officials who wished to remain anonymous.
Chávez silence has led to chatter and speculation in Venezuela that the socialist leader is actually suffering from prostate cancer. Intelligence officials could not confirm a diagnosis of prostate cancer but Chávez family did go to Cuba in the last 72 hours, according to wire service EFE.

Chávez daughter Rosinés and his mother Marisabel Rodríguez "urgently" left the country and headed to Cuba in a Venezuelan air force plane.

Cuba's state media website, Cubadebate, released photos on June 17 that showed Chávez posing with Fidel and Raul Castro in his hospital room. Chávez smiled for the camera in a track suit, while a frail-looking Fidel clutched Chávez arm.

Before the report that Chávez was in critical condition, his brother sought to reassure Venezuela that he was recovering well.

"In response to all the rumors, I can give faith that the president is recovering in a satisfactory manner," Adan Chávez, who is a state governor, told state television Wednesday. "The president is a strong man."

Adan Chávez added that "it's not clear" when his younger brother would return home, but said the president is expected to leave Cuba within 10 to 12 days.

Possibly to stave off rumors of bad health, Chávez personal Twitter account went active on Friday, for the first time in 20 days.

"I'm here with you during the hard battles every day! Until victory always! We are winning! And we shall win!" he tweeted in Spanish.

#Olympics:Government Terrorism - A Strike In London Blaming The Middle East - NATO Hits Iran In Response - It Could Be Oh So Easy...

With the Olympics less than a month away, small but noticeable changes are transforming London.

Special signs in Olympic pink that guide visitors to venues have appeared, announcements at major London Underground stations have become multilingual and the first of the Olympics traffic lanes have been painted.

More immediately disconcerting, however, is the appearance of Royal Military police in London. For those out in Leicester Square last Saturday night the Olympic-prompted mutual aid between the Metropolitan police's territorial support group and service personnel from the army and Royal Navy police was certainly a startling and confusing sight. It isn't every day you see patrols by officers in desert camouflage.

But beyond the unease generated by this development there are also concerns about how the use of these officers will play out in practice. Military personnel service police have statutory powers of arrest, but in the context of Olympics policing, their role will be to aid the police in dealing with the public.

Here they officially have the same powers of citizen's arrest as anyone else does under section 24A of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984; yet, on their Saturday night patrol they were equipped with handcuffs – an article not typically afforded to even police community support officers.

With these service police seemingly emulating the look and role of a standard constable, it would be naive not to think of the tensions between the police and public that exist as the Olympics draw closer.

Recent police racism revelations, the ongoing trial of Simon Harwood who is accused of killing Ian Tomlinson at the 2009 G20 demonstration and continuing investigations into deaths in police custody have all contributed to diminishing trust for the police in the eyes of the public.
Yet while we are getting better at asking poignant questions about the role of police in light of these concerns, public conversations about racism, sexism, homophobia and other prejudices within the armed services has been much quieter.

One question that this immediately raises is of accountability. While we should not be quick to hold up the IPCC as a good example of holding police to account or fetishise what passes for police accountability, the deployment of service personnel without any mechanism for the public to make complaints to an independent body certainly worries.

Lessons that have supposedly been learned from complaints against the police have taught us that it would be foolish to rely upon commanding officers to handle concerns raised about conduct of their officers.

This becomes even more of a concern when we consider that service personnel working with the police is just the beginning of the military's role at the Olympics. The Ministry of Defence will be providing 7,500 troops to Locog to provide security at venues........ read more

Africa After Gaddafi - Full Spectrum Dominance - Kenya And Somalia The Next Targets.

On Monday, 22 August 2011, Africa fell to the beginning of the New World Order (NWO), and Full Spectrum Dominance when the Sovereign Libyan Government was toppled with the aid of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), The European Union (EU), Gulf Cooperating Countries (GCC), and NATO Sponsored Terrorists imported from CIA Sponsored Training Grounds of Afghanistan, Yemen, Turkey, Jordan and Qatar.

The Libyan Nation is now in turmoil with the Country split into two halves, Tripoli representing the Western half of a very insecure and unstable country, and Benghazi the Eastern half. Chaos prevails in both halves, killings; kidnappings for ransom and revenge murders are daily routines for the gangs of armed “Liberators” who refuse to lay down their weapons in support of a singular State. With Gaddafi gone, Libya will not have prosperity or Security for at least the next 30-years, destabilizing neighbouring states starting with Niger, Mali, Algeria and Tunisia.
Now the United States of America and its allies from among the EU/NATO Member States and GCC Countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan), as well as Turkey are now embarking on the destabilization of the West and East African Region. Specifically, Kenya and Somalia in Eastern Africa, Niger and Mali in Western Africa for economic, natural resources and military purposes, key among them is to halt the growing dominance of China’s influence over Africa.

On Sunday, 10 June 2012 in the early hours of the morning, a Kenyan Police Helicopter crashed killing all six Souls on board, including George Saitoti, Minister of State in the Office of the Kenyan President, in charge of Internal Security and Provincial Administration, whooversaw the launch of the war on the so-called Al-Shabab terrorist militia as part of the African Union’s efforts to stabilize Somalia. This incident seen in isolation would have been forgotten quite quickly if was not for the US Military’s’ concept of Full Spectrum dominance, defined as the cumulative effect of dominance in the air, land, maritime, and space domains and information environment that permits the conduct of joint operations without effective opposition or prohibitive interference. Professor Saitoti had intended to stand in the forthcoming Presidential Elections and was widely considered to be a front-runner in the race to succeed the present incumbent, Mwai Kibaki whose term ends in 2013, Professor Saitoti was not acceptable to Washington but that is moot more
